Asus also show the relative running speed of the PCI bus. The board packaging is subtle and not completely over-the-top like some. We liked the use of the C-Media sound chip, we also appreciated the quality of the manual and general appearance of the package. We ran the board continuously for well over 16 hours with Prime95 and SETI both taxing the system simultaneously.

That’s not to say that Asus have not been busy in the retail channel, just one look at their extensive product catalogue informs you of that. However, the MSI, running with asynchronous memory, puts a little distance between itself and the Asus. The scaling of the Asus at Mhz informs us of that.

I still scratch my head and wonder why in the heck these guys put a more than useless ACR slot on this motherboard. It appears so, the Asus can’t quite catch the MSI at default speeds but naturally edges ahead at overclocked speeds.

Our visual preferences were xx32 Normal settings. The board satisfies it’s probable OEM target market pretty well.
Impressive results from a stock-clocked Geforce 3 Ti The very top bank of switches controls the CPU multiplier when set to jumper mode. One thing to take away from this test is the impressive performance all-round. Unlike on some other boards, you can remove the memory without having to remove a7v66 AGP card, there is just enough space for you to do so.
